The citywide winter parking ban is in effect.
The City’s overnight parking ban goes into effect every year on December 1st and will continue through March 15th 2026. During that period, on-street parking is prohibited from 11pm to 6am daily. Vehicles violating the ban are subject to the issuance of a parking ticket. Additionally, vehicles that interfere with snow or ice removal operations are subject to towing and storage at the owner’s expense.
Overnight Parking Ban
Pursuant to the City Code and the Rules and Regulations of the Traffic Commission, I hereby grant the following exceptions to the overnight parking ban, subject to the conditions indicated.
Exceptions Granted for:
- High Street;
- Brown Street;
- Brook Street;
- Emmett Street (From South Street Westerly to Dead End);
- Ringold St
Conditions: The exceptions granted shall NOT apply:
- When a snow or ice storm has been predicted.
- When a snow or ice storm is actually occurring.
- During post-storm plowing or clearing operations by the DPW.
Please check on your neighbors, especially seniors and those who may need assistance due to expected frigid temperatures.
The library will be closed on Sunday, and residents are strongly encouraged to stay off the roads if possible.
If you are able, please help clear snow from fire hydrants in your neighborhood to ensure emergency access.
If a shelter becomes necessary due to extreme cold or down utilities, updates will be posted on our website.
