About Us
The Marlborough Cultural Council is led by appointed volunteers who administer an annual grant process to support local cultural programs that include everything from in-school enrichment to lectures, public art installations, and musical performances. The grant funds are an allocation of public dollars from the State provided by the Governor and State Legislature and distributed through Mass. Cultural Council's Local Cultural Council program.
To learn more, consider attending a future meeting and/or email the Cultural Council directly. To apply as a volunteer Cultural Council member, please complete the City of Marlborough Boards and Commissions form. Marlborough Cultural Council welcomes additional volunteer members who have the capacity to participate in monthly in-person meetings and potentially take on an official role such as chair, treasurer or secretary. Appointments are for an initial 3-year term with the option to renew for a second 3-year term. The annual grant cycle opens in September and is busiest for Council members between October and January. To apply for a grant, visit the Mass Cultural Council website.
Mission
The mission of the Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and sciences in order to improve the quality of life for Marlborough residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our community.
